linda ross
As a sculptor, glass artist, 3-D fabricator and educator, Linda has established herself as a foremost advocate and practitioner of glass casting in the United States.
Linda studied at Massachusetts College of Art where she earned a BFA in 1985 and an MFA in 1997. She has had many solo exhibitions of her glass work across the US and in Japan, and participated in numerous group shows. Her work is in the Musee Des Arts Decoratifs in Luasanne, Switzerland, and the Corning Museum in Corning, NY; the George and Dorothy Saxe Collection; the collections of the Index Corporation and Pacific Bell Telephone; and numerous private collections in the US.
Linda has taught at the Pilchuck School in Seattle, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, and Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. She was visiting artist/lecturer, at RISD, RIT, University of Illinois, Ohio State University and Haystack Mountain School of Crafts. She served on the Board of Directors of Glass Art Society from 1994-2000. In 1997 she was one of the founders of the Page Hazlegrove Lectureship and Residency in Glass Art at MIT, including artists Josiah McElney, Dale Chihuly, Jamie Carpenter and Larry Bell. In 2003 Linda started (and still runs) the Fine Arts 3-D Artist Residency at Mass. College of Art.
Ross Art Studio was founded in 1999 to provide Linda’s expertise in glass casting, slumping and fusing to artists—sculptors, designers, and architects from around the world. Her clients include Kiki Smith, Robert Gober, Maya Lin and Eric Fischl.
